This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, how we use them on https://momco.ro, and the choices you have. It complements the Privacy policy.

2. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a site. They may be first-party (set by us) or third-party (set by services such as Google). Similar technologies include local storage, pixels, and session identifiers.

3. How we use cookies

3.1. Essential / technical cookies

These are needed for the Site to work (for example session memory, display preferences, security). They do not require consent, but can be blocked in your browser settings, which may affect your experience.

The NEXT_LOCALE cookie remembers the language you chose (Romanian or English) for one year, so the Site can open in the right language on later visits. It is a technical cookie needed to display content correctly.

3.2. Analytics cookies — Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how the Site is used: pages visited, time on page, device/browser, traffic sources, and aggregated statistics. This helps us improve content about community, events, projects, giving, and finding a group.

Google Analytics may set cookies such as (typical examples):

  • _ga — distinguishing users (long-lived, typically 2 years);
  • _ga_* — session state for the Analytics property;
  • _gid — distinguishing users in the short term (typically 24 hours), where used.

Provider: Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC. See Google’s Privacy Policy and Google cookies. Where possible, we use settings that reduce identification (for example IP anonymization / privacy-focused measurement, according to the live configuration).

The legal basis for analytics cookies is, in principle, your consent, where national / ePrivacy law requires it. You may refuse or withdraw consent at any time (see section 5).

3.3. Embedded third-party content

The Site includes a Google My Maps map in the “Find a group near you” section. When the iframe loads, Google may place cookies or process technical data (IP, device) under Google’s policies. Links to Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, or themom.co may also involve those platforms’ cookies if you visit them.

4. Duration

  • Session — deleted when you close the browser;
  • Persistent — remain until they expire or you delete them (for example Analytics cookies over months/years, depending on type).

5. How you can manage cookies

  • From your browser settings: block, delete, or limit cookies (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, and others).
  • Google Analytics opt-out (where available): Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
  • If a consent banner / panel is shown on the Site, you can accept, refuse, or customize non-essential cookie categories.

Refusing analytics cookies generally does not stop you from browsing the Site, but it limits our ability to measure and improve the experience.

6. Updates

We may update this policy when we change measurement tools or legal requirements. The date of the last update appears in the page header.
